Meet Day Information: Home vs Chancellor

    Good evening, Flying Fish families!

Happy Meet Day Eve! We are so excited about our first home meet of the season! There is A LOT of information to share, so this email is a long one.

Meet set-up begins at 4pm and we would really love for you to arrive early to help us get the pool deck ready for the meet. We need to clear the tables and chairs off the deck and set up all of the swim meet materials. Many hands make light work and we even offer to count it as time served for NJHS &NHS students who need volunteer hours.

Parking can be a challenge on meet days, so please factor that into your arrival time. Please do not park on the neighborhood streets; we have had people with cars towed in the past. You are welcome to park in the Ferry Farm Elementary School lots. You are also welcome to drop off swimmers and chairs at the gate before you drive off to find a parking spot.

Ferry Farm warm ups begin promptly at 5pm, so please plan to arrive at the pool no later than 4:45pm to get swimmers and volunteers checked in. You will find the swimmer & volunteer check-in table next to the concessions area; there will be our “Ferry Farm Check In” poster designating that space.

Our team seating areas are on the larger side of the pool deck (leaving plenty of space for walking and clerk of course) and both teams are invited to set up in the grass. If you are bringing a pop-up canopy, those may only be set up in the grassy area. There will not be any spectator seating on the smaller, school side of the pool deck this season.

Please be aware that if you signed up as a First Half volunteer, you need to stay in your position all the way through event 36, even if your swimmer has finished swimming for the evening. Second Half volunteers must stay in position from event 37 through event 68, the last (& most fun) event of the meet. The relays at the end of the meet are an absolute blast to watch and cheer for!

The swim meet starts at 6pm. We will have lots of delicious food (burgers, hot dogs, pizza, nachos, pasta salad, & more) available at our concessions stand, so come hungry! We do accept credit/debit cards for an additional fee.

Don’t forget to wear your Disney gear tomorrow!

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

    Important Updates

    Volunteer Requirements

All swimmers MUST have a parent or other adult volunteer for each meet they swim in.  The only exceptions are if all positions are already filled or the swimmer has a parent that is already actively involved with the team board.  If there is an open volunteer position and your swimmer does not have a parent/adult representative signed up to volunteer, you will be assigned a role or your swimmer will be scratched.

    Volunteer Incentive

Each volunteer position has been assigned a point value.  For each point, a raffle ticket will be given at sign in.  At the end of each meet, 2 names will be drawn and a $5 concession credit will be given to those volunteers.  At the end of season party, a name will be drawn for one free registration for next year.  If you have a senior swimmer, you can opt for a refund of this years fees.  Non-member fees will still apply.
