    Important Meet Day Information

    Good morning, Flying Fish families!

Happy Meet Day! We are so excited about our first home meet of the season! There is A LOT of information to share, so this email is a long one.

Meet set-up begins at 4pm, so you are welcome to arrive early to help us get the pool deck ready for the meet. Many hands make light work and we even offer to count it as an hour served for students who need volunteer hours.

Parking can be a challenge on meet days, so please factor that into your arrival time. Please do not park on the neighborhood streets; we have had people with cars towed in the past. You are welcome to park in the Ferry Farm Elementary School lots. You are also welcome to drop off swimmers and chairs at the gate before you drive off to find a parking spot.

Ferry Farm warm ups begin promptly at 5pm, so please plan to arrive at the pool no later than 4:45pm to get swimmers and volunteers checked in. You will find swimmer & volunteer check-in at a table next to the concessions area; there will be a “Ferry Farm Check In” poster designating that space.

Please be aware that if you signed up as a First Half volunteer, you need to stay in your position all the way through event 34, even if your swimmer has finished swimming for the evening. Second Half volunteers must stay in position from event 35 through event 68, the last (& most fun) event of the meet. The relays at the end of the meet are an absolute blast to watch and cheer for!

The swim meet starts at 6pm. We will have lots of delicious food available at our concessions stand, so come hungry! We do accept credit/debit cards for an additional fee.

We are closely watching the weather for tonight’s meet. We will send alerts through Swimtopia to notify families of any changes. Please make sure you have the Swimtopia Mobile App downloaded and allow for notifications so you can stay informed.

If it is just raining, the meet will go on as scheduled. If storms roll through, we may experience a delay or possibly will have to postpone the meet if the storm shows no sign of stopping. If the meet starts and we have to stop for lightning/thunder, please DO NOT LEAVE the parking lot! We will ask you to stay in your vehicles for safety while we assess if we can continue the meet. A Swimtopia alert will be sent out with further instructions once a decision is made.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

See you tonight! Swim fast, Flying Fish!

    Important Updates

    Volunteer Requirements

All swimmers MUST have a parent or other adult volunteer for each meet they swim in.  The only exceptions are if all positions are already filled or the swimmer has a parent that is already actively involved with the team board.  If there is an open volunteer position and your swimmer does not have a parent/adult representative signed up to volunteer, you will be assigned a role or your swimmer will be scratched.

    Volunteer Incentive

Each volunteer position has been assigned a point value.  For each point, a raffle ticket will be given at sign in.  At the end of each meet, 2 names will be drawn and a $5 concession credit will be given to those volunteers.  At the end of season party, a name will be drawn for one free registration for next year.  If you have a senior swimmer, you can opt for a refund of this years fees.  Non-member fees will still apply.
